Pat St. John has been referred to as “The Deejay’s DJ”. After a stint at his high school radio station, with a range of several blocks, he graduated to 50,000-watt powerhouse CKLW at the age of 18. Keener 13 (WKNR) and WRIF followed, before he went to New York for what he assumed would be a few years. That was 1973. He stayed until 2015, when he moved to San Diego to be close to family, including his grandson, Chase, who is mentioned frequently on his show.
