DAN INGRAM

“Big Dan” Ingram was everybody’s Kemosabe. A New York radio legend for more than 40 years, he was the quintessential personality deejay. His quick wit kept his audience listening, never knowing what to expect. (Four Tops’ “I Can’t Help Myself” as the story of a midget and a smorgasbord.) When WABC changed format in 1982, ushered out by Dan and Ron Lundy, it was  the end of an era. In 1991, his fans were joined by a new generation of kids who were introduced to the music and the irrepressible Dan at oldies station WCBS-FM. We lost Dan on June 21, 2018. RIP Kemosabe.
